I'll put up a preliminary roster, but I don't think lines are really set yet?

Also can we please keep Mcdavid off the score sheet? The Oilers Flames game just would not shut up about him, it's like he was playing a charity game against and with a high school game.

A lot of games this season will come down to how well our depth stacks up to the teams we're playing and whether we can exploit matchups better than the other teams can at 5on5.

Can't stop McDavid... can only hope to limit his options. This was where Sutter-Dorsett could prove their worth and value of their experience and speed. Worked in a preseason game or two.

And then of course - Special Teams.
We were one of the most discipline teams last yr... that will be extremely important to maintain this yr.
We were also one of the worst PKing teams... but due to a late season dive. We were cruising along with a decent PK for the 1st half of the season last yr.

Just excited to see how it all unfolds. So close now.

Ugly lines given the personnel (basically every line has something that seems like it fundamentally doesn't work and has a clear spot where it would, other than arguably the Virtanen line), but that's to be expected on the first game of the season, where veterans are given the benefit of the doubt and young guys are expected to work their way in from the bottom, I suppose.

Hearing you can score some pretty cheap tickets to this one already, and suspect the prices will drop tomorrow. Might look to score a couple to see McDavid and an actual good hockey team.

Though after seeing what McDavid do to Calgary I would expect him to have a field day against us. Never really ends up working out that way though...seemingly anytime you see a huge mismatch on paper it always falls short.

Bingo. This is pretty much how I feel. I'm all for the team going through these rough years to acquire the talent they need at the top of the draft. I'm just not going to outright cheer for it, at least at the beginning of the season.

I also want the young players we have on the roster succeed, not fail. Don't look at Edmonton. Their youth fell flat on their faces until they finally got a generational talent in Connor McDavid. Shocker.
