Ya I don't know watching the video he seems kinda sloppy I'm not an expert but he definitely looks like he needs a lot of work, the hockey didn't seem that high caliber either. He is playing in the Norwegian U19 league right now not sure if anyone has been drafted directly out of that league(looks like you would have to be playing in the GET-ligaen to be considered) before but if he does it wont be higher then a 7th used I would think.

That video was from last season the first game of him coming off an injury, and it was against the Czech U17 team HC Plzen.

He told me he will be getting some new videos from his goalie coach very soon to put on youtube.

He's nothing special IMO, he needs to work on his technique. As Faryn said, he looks sloppy.

Interesting prospect. I like his positioning. However, i got a feeling that he might have to go into a better league to develop his skills.

I'm no expect either but I saw a couple of things I definitely would like see improved. It might be bad habits since the caliber seems low.

He's been on a tryout with AIK Skelleftea in Sweden and also has gotten into a game with Valerenga on there mens team.

He wants to come to North America either by getting drafted in the NHL entry draft or the CHL import draft.

He's got the talent, I just really hope scouts take notice of him.

If he wants to come to North America then i hope he gets his shot. I think the CHL would be the best place for him.

I'm just gonna throw this out there. Maybe this is the type of player that the Moncton Wildcats might like. Their current goaltender is Roman Will (CZE) is 19 yrs old, and i don't believe that they have a whole lot of depth with goaltending. The Wildcats also have had success with Norwegians with Patrick Thoresen who played in Moncton for a season.

That could all change when Gormley is traded, but for now i could see a good fit there. Moncton has a good program. They developed most recently Corey Crawford so i think it would be a good place for him.

The only thing that seems intriguing about this prospect is his size. I don't know a lot about the European goaltenders, but from what I can see based on the calibre of the league and his technical abilities, I believe he would struggle if he played next year in the CHL. Although his size is certainly an asset, I think we have many tall goalies here in Canada that are equally, if not more skilled who would not eat up an import card for a team. There is clearly potential, but his technical abilities are far worse than many of the goalies playing at the CHL level here.

Take the video with a grain of salt. He has improved alot since last year.

He works with Sam Liebkind now who is a top goalie coach in Finland.

Here are some photos from his last game a few nights ago:

Seems like a bunch of you missed the fact that the video is over a year old.

He's been working with a top goalie coach. I bet he's much better now.

I dont think there's any chance he gets drafted. To be honest, I think he'd struggle in the CHL.

edit: Sam Liebkind is far from a top goalie coach...

Penguins need some goaltending projects, I wouldn't be opposed to throwing a late pick at him even if he doesn't turn out to be that great.

6'7" is huge!

Thomas is training tomorrow with the U20 Norwegian team before they head off to the Division 1 World Juniors in Germany. Lars Volden has a game with Espoo and cant attend so they asked Narmo (1994) over any 1992's or 1993's born norwegian goalies. Interesting.

I find really interesting comparing players and their different skill sets and physical trails. If you compare the two pictures: Narmo is covering the same amount of net while in a crouched position as Halak (5'11) who is standing up in an almost upright position.

This is why we are seeing more goalies like Rinne, Lindback, Bishop in the big leagues. If they can perfect the fundamentals those big goalies become very difficult to beat. Not alot of room anywhere to shoot at.

Montreal will get him. We need a successor to the legacy of Jason Missiaen and Petteri Similä. :yo:

Yeah he's big, but the bigger the goalers are, their 5-Holes and quickness suffer a ton. That's what separates Price, Rinne, etc. to Valiquette, Missiaen, etc.

Narmo practiced with the Norway U20 team today as they are headed to Germany for the Division 1 World Juniors.

He said it was "high tempo" and got a "good response". There was only 2 goalies practicing today. Him and Kenneth Sorli Eriksen. For those who dont know Eriksen was the third goalie at last years Worlds behind Volden and Soberg.

Narmo's goalie coach as well as most of the players were saying how much better Narmo is than Eriksen even though Eriksen is 2 years older and that how Narmo might get drafted in the CHL Import Draft if he plays good.

Narmo is actually sending me videos of him playing right now so I will edit them and try to have them on youtube as soon as possible!.

Thanks for all the positive comments so far guys!

This summer the Norwegian U-18 team had a camp in Hamar. This is for players born in 94 and 95. Narmo is a 94, they had 8 goalies there but Narmo was not invited. The only reason that he was with the Under-20 now is because he was available and the camp was held in his teams rink. Kind of like when an NHL club signs a third-string university goalie for a 1-day contract because they only have 1 available guy. Like San Jose did in Vancouver last year.

And Narmo being better than Sørlie Eriksen is just dumb. If Narmo had even an inch of potential he would not be playing in the U-19 league as a 94. This is a really really poor league because of the fact that all of the good 94/95 players are playing in the 1.div senior league.

If Narmo gets drafted to the NHL i will walk from Oslo to the city of the team that drafts him.

Sure, why not use a 7th rounder on him? Let him settle in the minors for 5 or 6 years and see what you get. This is what happens with most goalies anyway. If a goalie that big can really perfect his positioning it's pretty damn hard to find a hole. There's a goalie I play against just in shinny who's about 6'6 and coming down the wing you literally cannot see the net except for the 5 hole. He's a decent goalie, not great but it makes you second guess whether to shoot.
