Desrosiers played the bulk of the games for the Thunderbirds this season but did not see any time in Florida while both Samuel Montembeault and Chris Driedger did.

Is this an indication that his development has plateaued or the normal progression of a goaltending prospect? He will turn 25 this summer and has now spent five seasons in minor pro hockey.

Neither Desrosiers or Montembeault shined this year, they had good stretches muddied with bad performances but SPR hasn't really been a powerhouse. They struggled to score and were often outshot and goalies routinely faced 30+ shots if not more.

I'd say they re-sign Desrosiers for one more year and its up in the air for Montembeault. They've given him chances but only this year in the AHL, was he able to sport a .900 or above SV%, albeit in 11 games. He didn't play much, 25 games (14 NHL and 11 AHL)

Bednard spent time in ECHL but hope he gets a shot as the #2 if we move on from Montembeault, or he's back in Greenville and they go with the Desrosiers-Monty duo.
Or could see them go Monty-Bednard duo and letting Desrosiers walk.

Driedger has earned his #2 spot behind Bob, very calm and poised.

I would think they follow through with whatever scenario sees Bednard in the ahl. Desrosiers might be a casualty to keep Bednard in the ahl.
True, Bednard was a lot better in the second half of the season and his development should be a priority out of all our pro goalies (until Knight comes calling).
