Not a lot of love going on for Wichita Falls draft eligible goaltender Evan Cowley. In a lot of 'rank the goaltender' posts, he rarely - if ever - gets a mention. I wonder if this is more a product of him playing in the NAHL and getting less exposure.
Regardless, he's drawing a lot of comparisons to Philadelphia Flyers second rounder Anthony Stolarz, for a lot of good reasons. First, they're spending their draft year in the NAHL. They're both huge (Stolarz - 6'5, Cowley - 6'4). Both 'self-trained' goalies. Same style, too.
The most interesting part for me is that Stolarz is actually mentoring Cowley through his draft year!

So, time for a little love for Evan Cowley?

“He found me on Twitter after the Prospects Game and we’ve been speaking on and off,†Cowley said. “Obviously, he’s been through the same things that I’m going through this year, so its really nice having someone like him giving you advice. The biggest thing he’s shared with me is to have fun with the process; it’s an exciting time so I should enjoy it.â€
