Didn't see a thread on him at all. Anyone have any insights on him?

Have to figure an NHL team comes calling and I know he does have quite a bit of NHL interest at the moment. Also was on the US team at the WC's last year which is a good sign.

Is he an elite goalie prospect or is he a product of his team style? Curious to hear from those who have seen him live....

Thanks in advance....

Posted this in the NCAA free agent thread:

Bob McKenzie had an update on him last month: http://www.tsn.ca/taking-stock-of-the-u-s-college-free-agent-class-1.410105

The goalie most in the college UFA spotlight this season is Yale junior Alex Lyon, a 6-foot-1 Minnesotan who is 6-3-2 with a .932 save percentage in 11 games. It will be interesting to see if he opts to turn pro at season’s end. Since he’s already 24, if he were to stay at Yale and graduate, he’d be a 25-year-old free agent in 2017, which means he’d be too old to sign an entry-level contract in the NHL. Which is to suggest there are no compensation limitations once out of the entry-level phase.

I tried to watch a couple Yale games on TV this season to get a glimpse but the camera quality and angle made it tough to glean anything.

As Bob points out, Lyon could stick around for his senior year at which point he'd be old enough to not have to sign an ELC (Matt Read and Matt Gilroy are examples of guys who did this). If Lyon were to sign this Spring, he'd have to sign a 1 year ELC (which would also be a two way deal). If he waited, he wouldn't have any restrictions (Read/Gilroy both signed one way deals).
