I could see Werner starting the season as the AHL No.1 if Annunen comes over from Finland and needs time to settle.

If Annunen stays in Finland another year though then I wouldn't be surprised if we brought in a more experienced No.3 to be the AHL starter and have Werner as backup.

Me, after his game against Winnipeg.

Then his game against Edmonton...

Seriously though... I liked what I saw against the Jets. Hopefully he can put together a good year in the AHL.

He showed well his first year in North America. Showed some real atheticism in the Winnipeg game despite being kind of scrambly. It's a shame he was forced to take his next start against McDavid and Draisaitl.

I'd like to see him take a step forward and take over the net in Loveland next year. One big NHL win aside, I don't think it's really accelerated his timetable. He needs to get steadier, but he could become a serviceable 2/3 type that always finds jobs in the league. I'm rooting for him.
