It has to spell the end of one of them because POJ is waiver eligible next year. It's either trade one of them or risk losing POJ on waivers.

Locking up Ruh and Friedman is probably just doing housework for stuff the FO had planned to address by next October. It adds some flexibility, I guess.

I think they might. They did for portions of last season. The difference this year was POJ could be sent down and Riikola makes over a million.
