So Darling just doesn’t play anymore huh?

Not that I want him to or expect anything to be different. I just find it funny that they had that meeting with him and the coaching staff and then have sat him. Ward’s been decent anyway.

The meeting was short so I’m guessing it was some form of, you aren’t playing again until you get your shit together or Cam’s back gives out. The fact that I have to ride this f***ing guy AGAIN is f***ing embarrassing for you.

In her defense, I supposed I'd feel pretty damned stupid if I'd put a ton of time and energy into proving something extremely specific was about to happen, only to find out that it wasn't ever going to happen.

I guess the only card left to play at that point is the "Oh yeah, well... it shoulda happen!" card.

In fairness to QC in general, not this person specifically, the NHL jerked them around with expansion. They can shit on Bettman and the league for that for the rest of time.

The rest of it though, obviously they can blow themselves.

Eh to an extent, it was painfully obvious that any other team that was going to be added also was going to be in the West so unless QC wanted to play in the Central, and the teams in the West didn't mind having a team on the other side of the continent in f***ing Quebec City in their conference, it was NEVER going to happen. QC literally would have had to pay hundreds of millions to Detroit or Columbus to get them to agree to move back to the West. And QC was never going to agree to that because their big thing was and always will be the inborn rivalry with Montreal. So they basically deluded themselves into thinking that the NHL would be fine with a 15/17 setup instead of 16/16 as an option, and then deluded themselves in to thinking they could literally force the NHLs hand in to moving a team with a stable arena situation. f*** them.

I'll feel bad for the fans of hockey there that didn't get conned in to believing those pieces of fake news and weren't vulturing for our team, Phoenix, Nashville, Florida, or any other team, but those seem to be very few and far between.

All of that’s true, but if they never had any intention of giving them a team (they didn’t) why have the dog and pony show to begin with? When they went to apply just say, nah don’t waste your time we aren’t coming back instead of taking their money to apply. They made it seem like they had at least a chance when there’s no way they actually did.

I would agree with that as far as QC’ers in general who have basically just gone about their business and been used as pawns by Bettman & Co.

This lady, in particular, is an extreme representation of the sort of person who, having once had something taken from them, believes that she not only has a god-given right to take things from others... but that she SHOULD take things from others because they don’t deserve to have nice things at all.

Her and others like her are strange to me. It’s the same thing as Hartford. You guys snuck in the league as almost a technicality. You are not a major sports town. Get the f*** over it.

I thought, and still think, that Bettman ruled "deferred" and took the heat because Quebecor couldn't afford the absurd 500 million expansion fee, especially with the weak loonie at the time.

As is, Seattle will make 32, and QC will be what makes all future arena negotiations offers you can't refuse.

She's still tweeting hilariously bitter criticism at Bettman and sunbelt teams, including shots at us for Dundon's ticket promos:

Won't disagree with that either. Though again, part of me wonders how much of what the league did in effect was trying to save face for Quebecor and their "see guys, we're really trying here" attitude about the whole thing when the CAD didn't start to bounce back against the USD as most expected was going to happen. The companies value was right, but the companies level of liquidity never was and still isn't much like was the case with Karmanos and the tools that were OKHockey down in Tampa.

All said, yes, I DO think 36 is inevitable for the league, and I DO think Quebec will be one of those in the long run.

At this point it's a catch 22. He can't really get his shit together not playing, yet putting him in is a huge liability. It's a shitty situation.

Go Canes. Please allow me to have that big smile at work tomorrow... And the 2 points in the standings.

Not ALL French people are against the Canes. We are nice - mainly friendly - people. Anyone remembers the poutine invasion? Was it 10 years ago? Good times...
HEY! hope all's going good man, still doing the professor gig?

Please win this one Canes, won't be able to see this one live though..

I expect that we will lose tomorrow when I will be able to watch the game, because of Darling

The team needs to play stellar in front of Darling tomorrow. I mean lights out. Block everything, and don't give up any odd man rushes, or crazy scoring chances. It's a tall order, but they need to play a calculated game, and go easy on the pinching.
