Just saw this. Honestly didn't see that one coming. I figured given his record he would land an NHL assistant job and be the behind the scenes X's and O's guy, and jump in and coach the AHL team if the need arises. GOod for him though, new adventure and opportunity.

KHL is Klub Hokeja na Ledu, or in croatian ice hockey club. It is little but confusing as KHL is also shortname for the league

Wouldnt this be a downgrade in the career route though? AHL is AAA, one step away from the big time.

KHL is the second league in the world, furthermore next season's newcomer Medvescak is going to sign many AHLers, so it surely won't be a downgrade for their new coach.

Yes, Latvia, Belarus, Ukraine and Kazahstan as well. From 13/14 season Croatian Medvescak is in league as 28th member.
