He’s a big, soft, low motor player that’s frustrating in how invisible he is. But he can win faceoffs, doesn’t f*** up defensively and might grow into a decent PK/Shut-Down type (maybe). Could be an okay 4C possibly.

Just noticed that in his NHL career, 75% of his face-offs have been in the defensive zone. lol.

Almost zero of them have been against good comp. and he doesn't PK (and is bad with what little he does).

There are worse players out there to carry (Hayden comes to mind) but he's a fine 4c so long as that line isn't being used defensively like it was last year. His ES point rate vs weak comp is pretty good.

He PKs quite a bit relative to his total usage, though (for whatever that's worth! - not much but 1min of PKTOIGP when you only get 8mins total is kind of a lot- haha). I know he's got to that WYSIWYG age, but this 6'5 forwards take a while. Perhaps if he rededicates himself to being the best 3-4C he can be, and forgets all about the former 1st round pick stuff, maybe he can settle into something okay-ish. Probably not but I've got a tiny bit of hope that he can be a decent center on a 4th line, where he's solid defensively and grows within a PK role. At this point Christian Dvorak is looking like our top C 5v5 and for PP1 and PK2. Kid is going to play 25 mins per night, lol.
