Frank Schumacher has left his USHL team to rejoin Shawinigan. He started the year with the Omaha Lancers but was recently traded to the Fargo Force. I dont know if he was unhappy about his new location or what is going on.

I guess I shouldnt have said rejoin but rather goes to Shawinigan. He previously had stints with Sudbury and Saginaw of the OHL. He left both of those teams mid season as well.

Well 4 points in 5 games this season with Saginaw. Not sure if Shawinigan need a 19 year old dman but a free addition can't hurt... Bad timing being right after the trade period. Would he be considered a free agent?

Probably didnt have many options. I saw him play this year and was not impressed. He was nothing more than an agitator trying to get opponents to fight. Have heard from USHL sources he has character issues and doesnt have a good locker room presence.

He was drafted us and played in Saginaw and then asked to be traded. And he was moved to Sudbury

Then he left Sudbury and came back to Saginaw.

Then he quit on the team half way through the season.

And then he came back and left again.

That has got to be the only time a player has left the same team 3 times in one junior career. I would be shocked if he makes through the rest of the year without quitting. It's what he does.

What is the OHL rule on players being traded and returning to old clubs? I know the Q just changed their rule, but before it was if a player was traded at 16, they werent able to play for their original team for four seasons, being their 20-year-old season.

When he was traded to Sudbury, was he a waiver pick up by Saginaw?

Kingpin missed a stop in Niagara:

Season Team Lge GP G A Pts PIM +/- GP G A Pts PIM
2009-10 Saginaw Spirit OHL 15 0 0 0 9 -2 -- -- -- -- --
2010-11 Saginaw Spirit OHL 8 0 1 1 2 4 -- -- -- -- --
2010-11 Sudbury Wolves OHL 22 4 1 5 4 -3 8 1 1 2 6
2011-12 Sudbury Wolves OHL 5 0 0 0 4 -3 -- -- -- -- --
2011-12 Niagara IceDogs OHL 17 0 2 2 15 1 -- -- -- -- --
2011-12 Saginaw Spirit OHL 15 1 5 6 12 1 -- -- -- -- --
2012-13 Saginaw Spirit* OHL 5 1 3 4 0 -8
2012-13 Omaha Lancers* USHL 18 3 6 9 63 -4
2012-13 Fargo Force* USHL 6 0 1 1 0 1

I believe the OHL rule is 1 year, but not certain on that. Frank was traded to Sudbury by Saginaw in a package that got Saginaw John McFarland and Ben Chariot, then we got him back in a package from Niagara in the Jamie Oleksiak deal.
