Probably accomplished more than any other Commissioner/President ever did for any major sport.

The growth of the NBA was meteoric under him.

(And personally, I think The NBA sucks, but I'm clearly in the minority that do....)

RIP, have to respect his accomplishments greatly.:thumbu:

The NBA became the giant it is today under his stewardship. Definitely has the biggest global footprint of the big 4.

What I always liked about Stern, was that he ruled with an iron fist. (and the way he announced picks, just sounded funny)

Silver's problem is he's letting the inmates run the asylum. He tries too hard to be the players' friend instead of doing what he has to do.

Many have speculated that the Hong Kong situation would have never happened if Stern was still in charge. Mainly due to the fear that executives and players had of him. Who knows.
