Saw this on the mains this morning, haven't seen it posted here yet. Apparently former Jacket Kristian Huselius suffered 3rd-degree burns to his face, head and shoulder when his home fireplace malfunctioned. I don't read or speak Swedish, but the picture says it all. Spoiler alert: it's pretty gruesome.

He was transported to the emergency room by ambulance and received immediate care.

Huselius has burns on the upper body but the worst is the damage to the face and the shoulder.
The skin on the face is not dead. I will of course get some scar, but I am glad it is not worse. On the shoulder, the skin is probably dead, so they will transplant skin from other parts of the body. The doctors are positive and think I will be completely restored. And I will, there is nothing else. I also have an injury to one cornea, but our fine health care will probably fix it as well. We'll see and wait for what permanent scars or but I get.
- For me there is nothing but that I should be restored, but at the same time I am happy that I live and that all body parts are kept.
He wants to thank all the nice greetings and warn others.
- I can only advise everyone to be careful with open fire and follow all the safety regulations that exist. I have learned, through a tough and painful path.
For the weekend, the oldest daughter plays Stella Ungdoms-SM in handball.
Huselius hopes to be present at the championship in Karlstad.

I had something similar happen but luckily not as bad. I have a gas log lighter for my wood burning fireplace and when first installed I turned it all the way up and stuck a lighter in there and POOF flames shot out of the fireplace and burned all of the hair off my arm and almost caught my shirt of fire. Its happens so quick. Turns out fire can be dangerous. Glad to hear it wasn't worse for him.
