The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have signed forward Ryan White to a one-year contract extension, according to general manager Ron Hextall.

White, 27, established new career-highs in goals (6), assists (6) and points (12) despite playing a limited amount of games (34) due to injury this past season, his first with the Flyers.

So,

Raffl G Jake
Read Couts Gagner
Schenn Laughts Simmer
VV PEB White
RJ Vinny

My guess is a fwd gets traded yet as don't think they plan on benching RJ ?

Vandevelde could be the 13th forward with Umberger on the 4th line for all we know. I'd say the top 9 is pretty much locked in though.

Good news. He brings some much needed toughness to this forward group plus he is a good player. How many Flyer forwards are under contract now though? It seems like a lot and the players must of us want them to get rid of are the ones with bad contracts that are hard to move.

I'm curious if they don't try Gagner at LW with G/Voracek.

I think Giroux and Gagner played today in Juniors during the Super Series.

Good good. Hopefully we'll see a Vinny retirement after his bonus check is cashed tomorrow.

There will always be injuries and guys moving up and down. How Umberger is going to look after the surgeries is probably the biggest unknown amongst the forwards.
