Flyers say they can't repeat Game 5 performance and expect to win

"We can't let ourselves play another game like that," captain Claude Giroux said Saturday at the Flyers' practice facility in Voorhees.

The Flyers had their lowest shot total in franchise history in either the regular season or the playoffs, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

The minus-33 shot differential was the largest in any playoff game in franchise history.

Giroux is the only Flyer remaining from the team that overcame a three-games-to-none series deficit against Boston in 2010.

Wayne Train:
"We're not going to play like we played," said Simmonds, who had a team-high 32 regular-season goals but has yet to turn on the red light in this series. "We had one unbelievable performance and that was from Michal, and we fully intend to go out there and have a 100 percent better game. We know we didn't play our best hockey, and Neuvirth was our best player and sometimes you need that."

Simmonds said that after the team attended the emotional memorial tribute to club chairman Ed Snider on Thursday, "we really wanted to go into Washington and bring this one back to Philly."

Simmonds said that because the Flyers trail in the series, the pressure is still on them. He called Sunday's matchup "the biggest game of the year and biggest of a lot of our careers, and that's all we're focused on: one shift, one period, and one game."
