I'm not the one malding over Patrick Brown. The most minor things to too many posters on here turn into nuclear level problems. It doesn't bring anything to Flyers discourse but ass-mad negativity and some people seem proud of that.

Literally noone is having a nuclear problem over Patrick brown. You should probably try like...reading the thread and posts then rejoin the conversation. Or don't. Also a good option.

What God forsaken part of this forum have I stumbled into where somebody is using the term Malding unironically.

That's what this dude should be getting eviscerated for.

Brown was really good for the Knights during the playoffs. Sound 2 way player. Decent upside and if it doesn't pan out and if Frost eventually takes his spot.... there's no loss imo

I hope the beats didn't spend too much time writing feel good stories about Wilson making the team.
I caught one who cut and paste his 'Who is Garrett Wilson?' story into a 'Who is Patrick Brown?' story at the last minute. Unfortunately, he left Wilson's OHL bio information and enforcer status in the article. Sloppy work, Jamey... darn that waiver wire.

What The? Who Is The Flyers New Center Patrick Brown?

"This native of Michigan in Brown is not afraid to stick up for his teammates. That is what separates him from a lot of players, but he is skilled n the same token. Brown’s scoring abilities may have not of translated to the NHL level from his Junior days where he tallied 40 goals and 46 assists for the Owen Sound Attack, but he is still a leader. Wilson is one that can pot a big goal at times. He has tallied 95 goals, and registered 119 assists in 440 AHL games played."

And how can you do a bio piece on Patrick Brown without noticing he looks exactly like his father, a former Devil checker, Doug Brown, and a pretty good player in his own right.

However, he's one of Hayes' best buds, so he's going to play.

Also funny watching the beats speculate, based on AV's drivel about starting with 20 players to save cap space, that they might take Wilson on the road trip, without realizing they can't sign him to an NHL contract without losing one - Brown is #50 acc to people on here.

Read this and then do some research on winning on the margins. Once you understand that you will understand what people are bitching about.
This Coach Improved Every Tiny Thing by 1 Percent and Here’s What Happened

And Brown is an upgrade on the margin over Thompson, Wilson, Cates, the other LHV forwards and the two smurfs who can't score at the NHL level who were claimed on waivers.
So what are people bitching about?
We added a 12th (soon to be 13th or 14th) forward who was good enough to play 12 games in the playoffs for a legitimate SC contender last season.

CF 55.49%, xGF 56.88% in those 12 PO games.
Now compare to some of our marginal talents in the 2017-18 and 2019-20 playoffs.

If Brown is an upgrade over three guys your dude Fletcher chose freely to put on the roster then your dude Fletcher is shockingly bad at general managing.

Looks like an AHL level player that can sustain NHL fourth line play for short spurts. Better than you could say about Wilson.

Also, if it means anything, Twitter and the Vegas posters on here seem to have really liked Brown.

What are the chances any of the people defending this claim or talking him up could have picked him out of a crowd a week ago or told you anything about his career?

You mean you missed all those “Patrick Brown is available on waivers!?!?!? He played 12 games in the playoffs last year, that would be quite a shrewd move by Fletch to scoop him up” posts 2 days ago?
