Edmonton
01. EDM - Ryan Nugent Hopkins
Simply put, they take the kid they think will feed Taylor Hall pucks for years to come. The rest of the league sits uneasy in their seats when they are forced to think about the many years they are going to face up against a top line of Hall-Nugent Hopkins-Eberle
02. COL - Adam Larsson
Colorado smiles as they take their answer to the future top line of the oilers, securing their top pairing of Johnson-Larsson.
03. FLA - Sean Couturier
Dale Tallon doesn't believe all the negative hype that Couturier got this year, and takes the big center, making him the core of the Panthers revival.
04. NJD - Jonathon Huberdeau
New Jersey is happy to take Huberdeau, who they had higher. His memorial cup preformance showed he can shine when it matters most, and they now go forward with an even stronger top 6.
05. NYI - Dougie Hamilton
Garth Snow confiedently takes this D-Man, and smiles at the young and talented group of forwards going forward.
06. OTT - Gabriel Landerskog
Bryan Murray has been trying all day long to trade up in order to pick this kid, and cries tears of Joy as he falls into their laps. Future Captain material
07. WPG - Mika Zibanejad
With their first ever pick, the Winnipeg franchise takes the big swedish center, something which they lacked.
08. CBJ - Ryan Murphy
Columbus roles the dice on the small defenceman, will his dynamite skills translate over and finally give them that kick from the back end?
09. BOS - Ryan Strome
Seeing Murphy go, Boston picks up the BPA and has no issue at all with drafting a kid as talented as Ryan Strome. The future and present both look bright in Beantown
10. MIN - Joel Armia
Having had great luck with Fins, they go with a very interesting talent in Joel Armia, perhaps the pure Goal scorer they've been searching for
11. COL - Matt Puemple
With their second pick in the first round, Colorado gambles a bit, and takes a kid who has been called the best offensive talent in the draft.
12. CAR - Mark Scheifele
Impressed by his better preformance at the U18's over the other Mark, Carolina takes the slick young forward
13. CGY - Sven Bartschi
Looking for help anywhere up front, the flames are ecstatic to have Sven Bartschi fall to them. Tons of potential.
14. DAL - Nathan Beaulieu
Even after acquiring Goligoski, Dallas still feels weak on their blue line, and they hope to make no mistake by acquiring a slick puck mover in Beaulieu
15. NYR - Mark McNeil
Sather takes the burly forward, who at worst could be a third line grinder
16. BUF - Zach Phillips
Seeing the other forwards they were targetting go, Buffalo settles for Phillips, who is still quite talented
17. MTL - Nicklas Jensen
Montreal addresses a huge need in drafting Jensen here, adding a large winger with tons of potential to their roster. They are very pleased.
18. CHI - Jonathan Miller
Chicago sees enough potential to snag Miller, and complement their young group of forwards
19. EDM - Jamieson Oleksiak
Edmonton Laughs again as they snag the monstrous defender who they didn't think would fall to them
20. PHX - Tyler Biggs
In need of a younger Shane Doan, they look towards Biggs to perhaps fill that role
21. OTT - Rocco Grimraldi
having already taken their future captain, they snag an offensive dynamo who, although on the short side, has too much talent to ignore
22. ANA - Duncan Siemens
Anaheim takes another faller defenseman, in hopes the result is the same
23. PIT - Brandon Saad
Ever searching for a good winger to complement crosby or malkin, they take the strong young man in hopes he develops well
24. DET - Oscar Klefbom
As always, Detroit drafts confidently, perhaps Kelfbom will surprise and develop better than anyone has yet imagined.
25. TOR - Alexander Kohklachev
Looking for more offense, Toronto makes an interesting choice in alex. He's a great winger, but Burke doesn't normally take Russians. The difference is this one is already playing here
26. WAS - Vladimir Namestnikov
Washington has no problem taking russians, and they get a steal
27. TBL - David Musil
Crap shoot
28. SJS - Ty Rattie
Crap Shoot
29. TOR - Boone Jenner
Crap Shoot
30. VAN - Joe Morrow

Islanders pass on Landeskog? :biglaugh:

Just imagine a line of:
Landeksog - Tavares - Niederrieter
:amazed:

Snow goes for d-men later in the draft, like Hamonic and MacDonald. Last year he picked a forward, and plus, Landeskog has all the qualites Garth is in love with

As an Avs fan I'd be somewhat happy with that, I think Puempel would be available back around 15-18 range so if this were to happen it would be smart for Colorado to move down a bit and get him later so they pick up more picks, however I think no matter who Colorado picks at #2 they will pick Duncan Siemmens if he's available at 11, also dont think Huberdeau will go before Landeskog, and I dont think landeskog will fall out of top 5

A pretty good draft overall. Though think with the interest shown in Ty Rattie the Leafs would probably take him at 25 instead of Khokhlachev. Nice to get Jenner at 29 though.

Me too

Boston will pick a Dman. They have lots of Center depth. Beaulieau will be there pick

A lot of people project Strome as a winger and the Bruins have had no problem converting centres to wingers. Not to mention, Chia is all about BPA and after winning the cup there won't be many arguments from the rest of the scouting staff. The only question is who do the Bruins considered to be the BPA when they pick at 9.
