Flames have five bonafide centres and would be willing to part with Ryan Getzlaf if the right offer came in. Great ratings for 2020, only one year left on his deal.

For cap reasons, the Flames will explore offers for Jeff Skinner, who makes $2 million per less in the HF than the NHL, and does really well every second year in the NHL, so primed for yet another 40 goal break-out.

Nikita Gusev had an outstanding first year, really coming into his own at the tail end of the regular season, but is probably surplus to the Flames requirements. He only makes $4.5 m - a very cap-friendly deal for a player with an 83 PA rating.

Looking for cheaper equivalents, or futures, in any of these deals.

Flames are looking for a couple of additions, that don't have to come in these deals but looking to improve their D - looking for a Dman who makes less than $4 million per year and can fit in a 2nd or 3rd pair role for a couple of seasons.

Laurent Brossoit has agreed terms with the Flames and is being taken off the block.

However, despite a handshake agreement to a new offer, William Carrier, the league leader in hits per game for the past two seasons, has decided at the last second he will test free agency as he looks for a better deal, and therefore, he's on the block.

The Flames GM has also placed an official complaint on behalf of all GM's in the league with the head office over the conduct of the agents, asking for their licenses to be revoked over the Carrier negotiations.
