I can think of like four goal mouth scrambles with an open net waiting for the Flames. Along with several chances given up that should never happen. And a softy on Markstrom.

Hard to win under such circumstances.

It was fun for the first 25 minutes though.

The Flames D is almost un-recognizable...time for JPoirier,Morin and Kutnetzov to assume roles 5-7 and see what they have to offer
Morin turned 19 years old today, and Poirier has played 3 games since coming back from a bad laceration that’s had him out ~5 months. That’s a terrible idea and shows you none of what they have to offer.

So the Flames trade Hanifan,Tanev,Lindholm... and don't get an extra first rounder in 2024? And to add insult to injury owe Montreal a first rounder for taking on Sean Monahan's contract, ouch! Lock up who you can for 4-8 years and the rest trade off! Might as well do the rebuild properly and half-assed,half measures

Game started off well. Solid first 20 minutes against the top team, but then

The way it’s going, Conroy will have to pay NJ to take Markstrom at the end of the season.
2 more years of Markstrom at 6 M while Vladar and Wolf wait in the Wings or twisting in the Wind however you want to look at it

And Calgary has the option to trade this years or next years to Montreal for Monahan contract. Not sure if Calgary defaults to 2025 whether the pick is Top 10 protected? If they aren't the Flames are gambling big time that this Re-build can be fixed in a hurry?

If Markström is not traded in the summer, Vladar will be gone one way or another. Vladar is in no way waiting in the wings

It's in no way a Flames option.

With all your posts, are you just trolling or have no idea what is going on with the Flames?

According to Francis, we weren't even close to moving Markstrom. And as much as I think he's a blowhard, and an asshole, he's not usually far off when he occasionally shares inside info. Much more reliable than Dreger and Seravalli
The way I look at it, the only reason not to move Markstrom was if you think you can make the playoffs.

Unless they didn’t get a fair offer.
Everyone was saying they were offered a 1st or equivalent. That’s more than fair

Who did the Flames get for Tkachuk and Bennett I've forgotten and Matthew was a RFA

I think the Flames played better than the score indicates(at least offensively) but pretty clearly the worse team in this one.
Way too many turnovers to beat the #1 team in the league. Defense looked lost which is understandable for the new guys but the top pairing was horrendous. Markstrom also not very good.

Liked Coronato and Mangiapane for the most part, probably our best skaters. Kylington was OK. Miro wasn't bad. Duehr was moving well and Pelts had some chances.

Basically all of the vets were trash.

Will be interesting to see how they come out tomorrow. Canes have been rolling as well.

Calgary doesn't have the option. Montreal has the option to take this year's pick if its between 20th and 32nd which it won't be.

You think if you're a contending team trying to win now and your three goalies are below backup quality the cost to get a legitimate starting goalie for several seasons is a single first round pick?

If it was that easy to acquire core players teams would never need to rebuild.

Time to run a 3-headed goalie monster for a while. Let’s see what Wolf can do in some of our remaining 19 games
