Flames historically pathetic record in Anaheim...

Has there ever been a worse record in a road team's building as with Calgary in the Honda Center?

So I know we snapped that 25 game skid at the Honda center this year, but its summer and I'm bored so I decided to look into this, and I was even more appalled at what I came across...

10-44-6 record at the honda center since 1994, and a grand total of 2 regular season wins since the new millennium (3 if you count playoffs). I mean I get the idea of home ice advantage, but christ this takes it to a whole new extreme. That whole 25 straight loses in the regular season at the Honda Center was bad enough, but 2 f***ing regular season wins in 18 years (and you can argue the one we had this year was not deserved), and a 1-8 record in the playoffs is just terrible. I cannot honestly think of another team who has done so historically bad in a building as compared to Calgary in Anaheim; but if anyone can somehow find anything comparable, please post it for the sake of my sanity.

No real response. It's just astonishing how inept the Flames have been at Honda Center historically. Like, the Flames aren't a team that has been rebuilding and had last-place finishes in those years. They've been competitive and made the playoffs, and they still can't beat the Ducks in Anaheim.

I'm not going to lie. As a Ducks fan it was always great knowing when Calgary played Anaheim in the Honda Center it was basically an automatic W. It was almost comical in how long that streak was in today's parity driven NHL as opposed to Philly's streak against Pittsburgh mentioned above where the Penguins were brutal for years, compared to the Flyers being a top 5 team in the league for a large portion of that stretch. With Anaheim's injuries this season, and the Gaudreau led Flames improving I wasn't surprised the streak broke this year. All things must come to an end at some point.

That being said, it had to be frustrating for a Flames fan especially when it gets mentioned all the time on tv during games between the two teams.

From 1974 to 1989, the Pens went 42 games winless at Philly's Spectrum.

So yeah, they couldn't win a game there for fifteen years.

And after that, they won 2 playoff games in Philly in 2000. Which is as many wins as they had in the regular season from 1995-2004.

The Winnipeg Jets 1.0 rarely ever won in Edmonton. In fact, the Jets had to face the Oilers in the playoffs 6 times before they finally beat the Oilers on the road. The regular season was not much better. The Jets combined record for the playoffs in Edmonton was 1-14.

Capitals went 15 years with only 1 win vs San Jose, 10/99-1/14 the Caps were 1-17. They just couldn't beat them.

Some of these streaks are bad. I mean, Washington not winning the first 23 times they played in the Montreal Forum is bad. However...............this was a horrible team for a long time and Montreal in those years was a dynasty, and even after a team with over 100 points. Only one Rod Langway came did they finally win their first game there.

The Pens vs. the Flyers in the Spectrum is another big one. But to be fair, the Flyers were good those 15 years while the Pens were at best a mediocre team up until 1989. It makes a little sense, even if it is still shocking.

But Calgary in Anaheim? That's strange and it dates back to 1994. This is weird because Anaheim had a LOT of years where they were bad back then. Most of the 1990s, and even most of the years up until 2006. Calgary wasn't playing a Cup contender. Lately in the last decade the Ducks have been good but the record as a whole is still bad. The only thing is that the Flames have been bad those years more or less too.

Patrick Roy's record against Philadelphia for example is another strange one. Here was a great goalie with a very good team in Montreal and while he was a Hab he only one against the Flyers once. That's it in 10 years. He did win the playoff round in 1989 against them, but it is still a weird record, especially considering Philly was bad for half of that time.

The Devils/Rockies were pretty awful at the Montreal Forum too. 7-27-4

As well as old Winnipeg Arena 4-17-3 and the Corestate Spectrum 14-43-7. Though they went 3-0 in the Spectrum during the 1995 playoffs

They've never won a game at the Omni either against the old Atlanta Flames. 0-12-2

Here are a few more involving the Flyers:

Including the 1997 Cup Final, the Flyers were 0-16-2 at Detroit from 1989-2011. On the flip side, Detroit went 0-11-1 at Philadelphia from 1998-2016. Interestingly the Wings have not won a regulation game in Philly since game 2 of that SC final.

St. Louis went 0-31-3 at Philly from 1972-1988.

Montreal in San Jose Arena/HP Pavillon/Compaq Center/SAP Center is legit awful.

EDIT : 2 - 12(14) - 1 tie
Since 2000 : 0 - 12 (one SO, one OTL)

Pittsburgh went 0-30-3 at Montreal from 1969-1980.

Kansas City/Colorado/New Jersey went winless in their first 26 games at the Islanders. 0-24-2 from 1974-1984.

Ironic that Calgary won last year when fires were raging in the Anaheim Hills

A streak that included this whopper of a game:

The Pens were in full tank mode. The race to the bottom of the league with New Jersey yielded ridiculous shenanigans, like Denis Herron playing this entire game. Hard to believe that this game was competitive after 2 periods before the Flyers scored 7 goals in the 3rd period.

Although even when not in full tank mode, they could not win there.

Some notable regular season winless streaks at the Boston Garden.

Pittsburgh: 0-26-2 from 1968-1979
Minnesota: 0-28-7 from 1967-1981. Minnesota picked up their first ever win at the Garden on November 8, 1981.
Detroit: 0-18-4 from 1938-1941
Philadelphia: 0-18-4 from 1968-1976

I know. I was just pointing out the absurdity of that 13-4 game.

The winless streak at the Spectrum would have been 53 games had Pittsburgh not defeated the Flyers in 1974. Eliminate that one victory and the streak extends from 1970-1989.
