And I've read via a King's GM Dean Lombardi interview that the cap isn't likely to rise to 71m due to the falling Canadian dollar. I believe he said it's supposed to be closer to 68-69m for 2014-2015.

Damn, that wasn't hard at all. I would rather a lot more free agents over Paul Byron. I think he's a good and fast energy guy for his size, but I think we've seen his ceiling by now.

I think Burke realized his mistakes in Toronto. He made them too small and he really doesn't want to do that again. If a Leaf/former Leaf is a Flame next year I bet it's Franson. Burke loves Franson. He got tons of offers for him which he declined. And doubt the first FA Burke signs is small. He likes sending messages, he wants a big, tough, truculent team, he's gonna make one this off-season or at least start
