Wings need to stay patient when things get too hot and fast around them. if they start throwing away the puck instead of keep it when needs to, they are just adding fuel to the fire. in turn they beat themselves.

also maybe they sit back bit too much. needed to close the gap a slight bit quicker during some sequences in 3rd

It's not surprising the Wings are so awful in the third period and especially toward the end, given that they virtually play without a forecheck and might be the worst team in the league at preventing zone entry.
