Is this true?

If so nice to see Mikko have a career in the hockey world after his retirement.

Yes, Jarmo is actually Director of Scouting and Assistant GM for the Blues. His brother Janne is also a scout -for the Nashville Predators.

Quite unknown, because his name is KARRI...

Also, Kari Takko is a bit "better" than regular scout, he is the European head scout of Dallas.

And should the father of our foreign relations minister, Göran Stubb also be mentioned though he is not doing the scouting for any team any more.

His name is Kari, not Karri, eventhough it has been mistakenly spelled in many places. So Korkki don't try to be smartass when you don't have right information.

Göran Stubb is still (since early 80's) Director of European Scouting for the NHL Central Scouting.

Hrm, Janne must have the Kekalainen eye because the Preds have been doing pretty well with Finnish players lately.

Hmmm....I didn't realize the Flyers had another Finnish scout. They parted ways with Inge Hammarstrom (who is Swedish, but turned his attention to Finland for a time) after the draft because they didn't get enough out of him from Europe, and the Flyers seem to come up with a few decent prospects from Finland. In recent years, they have done poorly drafting from everywhere in Europe just about, I think we only have 3 real legit prospects over there and we only have 1 player in the WJC.

And he is my bestest friend in that whole organization, because he got us Pekka Rinne and Patric Hörnqvist, among others.

E.J McGuire was on XM radio 204 today and said that the Head of European Scouting for the NHL's Central Scouting Service was Finnish--but that since he had ranked 14 Swedes of the top 16 euros he wouldn't be very popular in Finland right now...ie. that it was a great year for the Swedish draft crop..
