Any preliminary rosters announced so far? I'm particularly interested in Slovakian roster.

Historically Latvia has had a hard time playing as the favourites. It certainly won't be an easy walk this time either, with a new coach and likely without the team's captain. In 2013, Latvia had a tough time winning Kazakhstan and lost to France in OT, yet it was enough to qualify. In 2017, Latvia lost the decider to Germany in a packed Arena Riga. This time there will only be some crowd support - only the lower bowl tickets are currently for sale, and it is likely they won't be sold-out either, as you need a Covid-19 certificate to enter.

The expectation is that we'll have all our 3 NHL forwards in Balcers, Blugers and Girgensons. Daugavins might not be available due to him getting Covid-19 in Swiss, Merzlikins staying in NA.

Not yet, but the pre-camp starts 16-Aug, so it should be known soon. From the NHL players, Chara, Sekera, Panik are not coming.

Cernak, Tatar, Halak, Jurco, Jaros, Marincin, Fehervary, Ruzicka are likely, if their clubs permit.

Then add some Euro players: Hrivik, Cehlarik, Lantosi, Kristof, Hudacek, Liska, Gernat, Cajkovsky, Daloga, Konrad

From the youngsters I expect Knazko, Nemec and Slafkovsky

Cajkovsky is injured, I doubt that both Nemec and Slaf will be on team

Norways roster
Zuccarello is eligble.
Patrick Thoresen is eligble(X-Edmonton and Philadelphia)
Andreas Martinsen is eligble (X-Chicago Blackhawks and Colorado Avalanche)
Mathias Emilio Pettersen wil not be their because Calgary Flames wanted to see him.

Roster Norway:
Kamper mot Latvia

Norway will play two test games against Latvia in Riga. 20th august and 21st august for preperation. The test games against Latvia will work as a try-out and the roster will be scaled down from 33 to 25 players after the Latvia games.

For Denmark: Fredrik Andersen(Carolina Hurricanes) will not come. Lars Eller(Washington Capitals) is uncertain. Denmark has a strong team.
Heinz Ehlers’ drømmehold: Masser af NHL-stjerner i OL-kamp

Interesting also: Norway will host their games on NHL-size rink, I think this will be the first ever official IIHF tournament in Europe played on NHL size rink.

pettersen is a huge blow. probaly the best player norway have after zucca. was really impressed with pettersen in wc. highly skilled player.

Latvian public TV will be broadcasting the Nor-Lat exhibition games on ltv.lv. The streams are usually geoblocked, though.

Denmark will per Heinz Ehlers be stacked
with NA players - Still watch them crumble and loose out :laugh:

Can’t qualify for the Olympics, even if their lives depended on it.

They have the easiest group. Slovenia and South Korea are essentially non factors nowadays. Norway poses the biggest threat and could stifle them but, well, like the last two (failed) qualification cycles I would expect their star power to overcome the hurdle.

I actually think Slovakia needs to be really sharp here to fend off Belarus and maybe Austria, they're in real danger of missing their first Olympics since splitting with Czech. Latvia should take care of France.

Any info on Belarus lineup?
Their camp officially starts in one week. Sharangovich, Protas will be there, it seems like Danny Taylor who is without the club might be their starting goalie. More or less we can expect everyone from last WC to play as nobody has opted out publicly.

Roster for Denmark for the qualification:

Lars Eller and Frederik Andersen are out

Will be interesting to watch if we manage to qualify this time. Its probably last chance for Frans Nielsen.

Slovenia.
Goalkeepers:
Gašper Krošelj, Luka Gračnar, Matija Pintarič, Žan Us;
Defenders: Aljoša Crnovič, Kristjan Čepon, Blaž Gregorc, Miha Logar, Aleksandar Magovac, Bine Mašič, Žiga Pavlin, Matic Podlipnik, Klemen Pretnar, Jurij Repe, Nejc Stojan;
Forwards : Tadej Čimžar, Jan Drozg, Žiga Jeglič, Žan Jezovšek, Luka Kalan, Gregor Koblar, Anže Kopitar, Anže Kuralt, Luka Maver, Ken Ograjenšek, Žiga Pance, Robert Sabolič, Nik Simšič, Jaka Šturm, Rok Tičar, Jan Urbas, Miha Verlic, Miha Zajc.

No Jan Mursak is a big loss for Slovenia. I read he has said goodbye to the national team due to his age(just 33 years old). Anze Kopitar will have to carry this team on his shoulders. Rok Ticar is in the roster so they have few good forwards, but they look very thin on defenders and goalkeepers.

Indeed.

Don’t remember where I read it, but if I recall correctly, the winner of the Slovakia/Belarus qualification group can only end up in the Russia/OAR Olympic group.
The Olympic tournament groups are indeed predetermined. The winner of Group D (played in Slovakia) ends up in Group B with ROC, Switzerland and the Czech Republic while the winners of groups E (Latvia) and F (Norway) end up in Group C with Finland and Sweden.
