Fehr tells players he's staying through next CBA negotiation (whenever that is), even though he's 71.
NHL is asking union to let them know by January 2019 All Star events their intentions WRT ending CBA early as they need that amount of time to make plans for World Cup 2020 (they don't want to have one and then have lockout).
It is the best interest to everyone to get a new CBA deal and not have shut down.
So now we know the players rep for the next negotiation.
