I'd have a big LOL if I saw an easton aluminum. Ting Ting!

Anyone remember this kind of stick tape (do they still sell it?) it's textured plastic. It's indestructible. I put this on last in about 1995 and it's lasted me since. Occasional applications of heat and pressing it back on is all it needs.

This may or may not be legal curvature...

19 year old tape:

I'm torn between grinding all the paint off and plasti-dipping the shaft... and leaving it as is with it's war wounds.

Every slapshot I take bruises my hands now that I'm an old man. But with snap shots and wrist shots, it's a beast.

I'm still running around with Titan TPM 3020 wood. Have four of them, one retired and up on the wall in my games room and three still in great nick. Had been shelved since the 90's.

Have a few 'newer' Titan ASD 6000's but they never did it for me and gathering dust.

They might be starting to go up in value so I try not to go too Iafrate or McInnes with them.

Likely going to replace them shortly with some new sticks before they get trashed.

I definitely miss the Warrior Dolomite DD 2010. The shape of the shaft was perfect for stickhandling, and it was easy to load on snap shots. Puck feel and balance were excellent.
Of all the sticks I owned, only the APX was as good for stickhandling.

My Bauer Total One shaft lost some of its pop, I can't feel the powerful mid kick on wrist shots. When it finally gives in, I'll have to move one to the Total One NXG, but I hate the matte finish on it.

For those who miss the S19, my LHS still has 4 or 5 of them. I won't buy them because they're all 100 flex.

I polished one of them to be shiny, which is overly flashy and ridiculous. But people love when I break it out, some even get jealous as they can't find any for themselves.

I had a TPS Rubber shaft, bought on clearance for $20. One of the dumbest purchases ever. It was XX-Stiff, I'm 5'7, do the math...

It was a weird coating though, actual rubber. Not like anything else I've tried. I bet it would just destroy gloves.

That rubber tape is interesting.

I'm not 100% certain it's the same tape, but I've used a rubbery tape for work before, to weather seal connections when we didn't have regular tape and butyl.
Pretty sure that stuff is still available in hardware stores.

Maybe I'll polish it. What'd you use to polish it?

Brown tripoli buffing compound, followed by white rouge compound, on spiral buffing wheels. The brown is the only one necessary, but the white gives it a mirror-like brilliance. I use buffs like these on a shank in an electric drill. Very quick job.

If you're unfamiliar, you can pick up the materials for about $4-7 each at a place like Sears, Home Depot, or similar.

Speaking of aluminum sticks, I remember when I first got one of those cherry red Nike aluminum sticks. Funny enough I "traded" it for an old, used Franklin composite shaft someone had left at the rink. No one claimed it after like three months, so I asked the rink if I could trade sticks, and they said it was fine, lol. Still have that Franklin, too.

As for the stick I wish they still made.. it wasn't popular with most, but I loved my CCM V10 sticks. Incredible pop, had an awesome slap shot with it. Still have one of them, but it's so old it's like trying to hit a bowling ball with a wet noodle.

You can see it's lifting a little here. has been since 1995 (yes, this tape is OLD)

you can see how it sorta shatters rather than falls off

Also, the Sherwood blade is indestructible too. this whole setup is as is from 1995.

I might be showing my age here, but my two fav sticks were Canadien 5001 Mick & Christian (can't remember the model) blue laminate side with sand bits in it for grip

I heard the One.9 was a modern version of the One 95.

The original Easton Ultra-Lite shafts were the best I have ever used. I wish I could find one in a regular flex.

I have a bunch of Koho, Titan, Canadian and Vic sticks (and others) from the 80's/90's in the garage. I still use some when screwing around. I can post some pics if folks are interested.

the brown ones were only made in 100 and 110 if memory serves. the green ones were offered in 85, but all accounts suggest they werent as good.

1. CNT - best stick ever imo, blade isn't durable though.
2. One95 - Could go 1 for me because it's a lot more durable, but still liked CNT more
3. 7k - a little heavy and boxy when I held it, but puck feel and shot was amazing
4. XXXX - felt good in the hand, blade a bit weak and pingy

Current stick is a Warrior Diablo, would trade it in for any of those if they're still available.
