I have to say, as great as Patrick Roy was, I never liked any of his pad choices.

Martins pads that he “wore” in the playoffs. Beautiful.

Spence's mountain pads are easily the best. I personally liked Giggy's helmet design. Straight, simple, not overly done.

Man, I miss Aebi. He wasn't ever a superstar, or really even a star in his own right, but I loved that dude here in Colorado.

I always liked him and boy did he make some good saves. Speaking of Aebi anyone remember this?

I loved the Roy pads as a kid. Especially with the classic Koho design and heavy on the burgundy.

The Koho stick is an all-time classic.

Also digged Anderson's TPS pads at the time, but now they look kinda corny.

Easily Theodore, had the best class.

Street hockey pads.

Roy’s mask will always be a classic, but that’s in part due to the intense, steely blue gaze that used to pierce from behind the cage.

Theodore had the best helmet, by far. His pads, not so much.

Bernier's concussion helmet was the best. Ain't even close.

If we're talking masks now, Varly had a couple of cool ones. The "Arctic Zombies" mask (not the first one with the snowmen, the second one probably) and the "Birthday Party" one, those were pretty neat.

And while I don't know if I liked the designs up close, Reto Berra's masks (except the first place holder obv) looked great from a little bit out. Really dug the white cage.
