Which players are the fastest/best skaters in the 06 draft who are worthy of 1st or 2nd round picks?

Based on this season speed is one of the most important things to have.

Thanks in advance

Kessel and Erik Johnson are the major ones that come to mind.

Even though it doesn't tell the whole story, since it's only a competition, but based on the prospects game in the skills competition, the top 10 fastest skaters of the CHL are :

Ondrej Fiala 14.397
James Sheppard 14.398
Brady Calla 14.573
Chris Stewart 14.629
Jordan Staal 14.667
Ben Maxwell 14.680
Bryan Little 14.705
Bobby Sanguinetti 14.763
Michael Grabner 14.765
Matthew Corrente 14.793

Being a fast skater is nice but most guys slow down considerably when they have the puck... One guy that skate brilliantly with the puck is Brassard. Think Joe Sakic and you can get a feeling of what I'm saying. Ryan Hillier is also a dynamic skater... Very, very fast.

This is a very good point. I'd rather know who is fast when they play hockey, not who is fast in timed drills.

there are a few guys IMO who could have this:

Phil Kessel
Ben Maxwell
Ivan Vishnevsky is pretty fast to

don't look for James Sheppard to tear up the speed, he is one of those deceptive speed guys, not slow, but doesn't look like he is moving too fast when he really is, but overall he is not going to burn up the ice.

 Apparently I'm the only too commited to restlessly researching, commenting and projecting players I may or may not have ever seen play to have had time to develop a relationship.
