After a gruelling tournament where we thought we may FINALLY see a team that selected their 1C outside R1 win the cup, we are now down to two teams. Instead of a cinderella narrative, we are left with two teams that used the 2 elite C strategy patented in the very first fantasy draft. The one consolation? 1D Mac Weegar vs 1D Sam Girard... who will be the champion (and will they remain the champion 12 months from now)?

Dallas's top line has Boston beat; Boston is equal or better everywhere else.

Better 2nd line, much more effective bottom-6. Far superior defense—each player in the top-4 outmaches their Stars' counterpart: Weegar > Girard, Lindholm > Trouba, Hronek > Murphy, and McNabb > Murray. Goaltending is a wash.

Matthews over Couturier is really the main advantage Dallas has to Boston, and that's not enough to offset the rest of the matchup.

Again in the finals. A team that would never score any goals. Honestly, look at Boston's forward group and you just might get 20 out of three guys there. Add to that the suspect D core and the bottom six that would get absolutely crushed and you wonder what people are thinking when they vote in these games.

I had 7 of my top 9 as 20+ scorers and one of them is the greatest goalscorer of all time. The other 2 were on pace for 17 and 14 goals last season.

Is this how it normally works? Haha

Boston beat New Jersey, which automatically means that they somehow must be the best team in the game.

Hampus Lindholm - MacKenzie Weegar
Brayden McNabb - Filip Hronek

How is that a suspect D-core?

The second pair, mostly. Hronek is pretty bad and he's paired with a shutdown defenseman that gets buried in DZ starts. But I'm being a little too critical.

The whole team would just drown from not being able to score goals, which is the much bigger problem.
