No wonder the Leafs have been soft for so long. It’s a bloody hat and you can get it back to boot.

Don’t they bring all the hats somewhere after the game where fans can get their hats back?

Apparently yes. However, that will take time and effort. We don't know what that guys plans post game were... and the guy who threw the hat had no right to interfere there. Touching someone's belongings is a no-no for me. In fact, I probably would have reacted harsher than the hat owner did to be honest.

It did appear the cameraperson was egging the hat thrower on as well.

Being banned would be too much I think, but that was not cool to say the least.

If the hat was super expensive (designer brand) then dumb choice to wear to a game especially when Matthews is tearing it up. Dont wear expensive hats to hockey games lol.

If its a 15-30 hat, either can get it back, or the person who threw it should just apologize and buy the person whose hat was thrown a drink.

Celebrate 48 goals in 52 games. Just typing that seems like its fake lol

It's too bad the owner didn't have his hand on his hat, then if the guy kept trying to tug it free the owner gets a free punch.

Once there was a tan-colored hat that belonged to a middle-aged man named Frank. Frank was a devoted Toronto Maple Leafs fan and had worn the hat to countless games, both in victory and defeat. He had no son, but the hat had been his faithful companion throughout the years.

One fateful evening, Frank attended a hockey game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Anaheim Ducks. The game was electric, with the Leafs scoring goal after goal. The crowd erupted when Toronto's superstar, Austin Matthews, scored an impressive hat trick, quickly followed by another hat trick from the lesser-known player, Bobby McMann. The excitement in the arena was palpable, and fans began to throw their hats onto the ice to celebrate the incredible feat.

As the hats rained down onto the rink, a fellow fan, caught up in the moment, took Frank's tan-colored hat right off his head and tossed it onto the ice without a second thought. By the time Frank realized what had happened, the game was over, and his hat was nowhere to be found. He felt a pang of sadness at the loss of his cherished companion.

Meanwhile, amidst the pile of hats on the ice, a staff member noticed the unique tan color of Frank's hat and decided to take it home with them. The hat found itself in a new home, with a new owner who also cherished it.

Frank never found his original lucky hat, but he continued to support his team at games with a new hat. The tan-colored hat began a new chapter, no longer confined to just one head but shared and adored by different fans. The story of the hat's unexpected journey became legendary among Maple Leafs fans, known as the hat that faced an unexpected adventure but found a new home and lived happily ever after.

Or imagine just expecting your personal space and property not to be f***ed with. Not that hard of a concept.

Some back story to it from twitter. Glad he got it back. People saying he’s in platinums, doesn’t matter. Rather a true fan and season ticket holder sitting there than a corporate suit.

Sure it was a dumb thing to do but its not something to get hurt/upset over beyond asking the dude to chill out and ask next time.

Some people were talking like its a crime/assault on twitter.

It was a crime. He took someone else property without consent. Thats stealing. But I see your point and understand.

Personally, it is a bad thing to do. Glad it all worked out and the guy who threw the hat was probably escorted out of the building.
