I've a Blackhawks' fan since the 1982 playoffs, remember seeing that Blackhawks' logo and falling in love! So I researched a bit, since my 'actual' following of hockey started then I looked at team successes for the past 38 yrs...Blackhawks represent!

Final four appearances in reverse order for the 31 franchises...

1st=Cup, 2nd=LFinals, 3rd=LSfinals, =4th=Lfinals
Basing the 3rd and 4th place finish on number of playoff wins that season with tie breaker going to team that lost to eventual Cup winner

31. Columbus BlueJackets...zero!
30. Arizona Coyotes(win)...1(4th)
29. Winnipeg Jets(atl)...1(4th)
28.Minnesota Wild...1(4th)
27. Florida Panthers...1(2nd)
26. Nashville Predators...1(2nd)
25. Vegas Golden Knights...2(2nd, 4th)
24. Ottawa Senators...3(2,3,3)
23. Vancouver Canucks...3(2,2,2)
22. Washington Capitals...3(1,2,4)
21. Calgary Flames...3(1,2,2)
20. Toronto Maple Leafs...4(3,4,4,4)
19. Buffalo Sabres...4(2,3,4,4)
18. St. Louis Blues...4(1,3,3,4)
17. Carolina Hurricanes(hfd)...4(1,2,4,4)
16. Los Angeles Kings...4(1,1,2,3)
15. San Jose Sharks...5(2,3,4,4,4)
14. Anaheim Ducks...5(1,2,3,4,4)
13. New York Islanders...5(1,1,2,3,4)
12. New York Rangers...6(1,2,3,4,4,4)
*11. Tampa Bay Lightning...6(1,2,?,3,3,3)
*10. Dallas Stars(min)...7(1,2,2,?,3,3,4)
9. Montreal Canadiens...7(1,1,2,3,3,3,4)
8. New Jersey Devils...7(1,1,1,2,2,3,3)
7. Boston Bruins...8(1,2,2,2,2,3,3,3)
6. Colorado Avalanche(que)...8(1,1,3,3,3,4,4,4)
5. Philadelphia Flyers...9(2,2,2,2,3,3,3,3,4)
4. Pittsburgh Penguins...9(1,1,1,1,1,2,3,4,4)
3. Edmonton Oilers...9(1,1,1,1,1,2,2,4,4)
2. Detroit Red Wings...10(1,1,1,1,2,2,3,4,4,4)
and
1. Chicago Blackhawks with 12!
(Cups in 2010, 2013, 2015, lost in finals in 1992, five times 3rd and three times 4th)

Now I know it's not an actual ranking(Phi and SJ having not won a Cup vs others who did) but it's both impressive and a little shocking to see Chicago topping this list! Darn Oilers and Flames dominating the late eighties early nighties!

Just thought I'd throw this out there

89-92 Hawks were pretty good and damn exciting to watch.

Younger fans would not believe what was going on during rivalry games. 2019-20 Oilers-Flames games would have been considered friendly non-conference matinee games in comparison.

The weekend back-to-backs and strict division playoffs really added something to the rivalries. This one was particularly memorable:

It was good to see Stevens get his because he was a punk all night. Aside from all this excess entertainment, I'm pretty sure the final was a 6-5 Hawks win.

Hawks had some really good teams in that era, but just couldn't get over the hump.

different era. We used to watch the fights in the lower bowl.

Cubs vs Cardinals at Wrigley was always good for 4-5 fan fights each game. That’s what happens when opposition fans are allowed into the stadium.;)
