READ THE RULES.

And make sure you have your roster & cap info posted in the roster thread!

[fieldset=""]Commissioners
[/fieldset]
[fieldset=""]
Game Schedule

  • Entry Draft: TBA
  • Free Agency Begins: TBA
    *All times ET, and subject to change.
[/fieldset]
[fieldset=""]
Salary Cap

  • The salary cap maximum for the 2013-2014 season will be $64.3M ($44M floor).
  • Teams may exceed the cap maximum by 10% ($70.73M) during the offseason.
  • Teams must comply with the salary cap by the end of the game.
  • Teams may have a roster of no more than 23 players by the end of the game.
  • Teams may sign their draft picks to contracts using the ENTRY LEVEL CONTRACT CHART
  • Nuckles37 will be the "Capologist" and will assure that teams adhere to salary cap/roster rules (if he feels like it)
[/fieldset]

[fieldset=""]Waivers/Buyouts
  • Post in this thread if you’d like to place a player on waivers.
  • Each team has the option of sending ONE player on a 1-way contract to the minors or Europe due to cap reasons.
  • Burying a player in the minors or Europe only eliminates a maximum of $900k of their cap hit.
  • A player will be on waivers for 24 hours after the player was waived.
  • Waiver priority will be based on the current NHL standings.
  • If a team claims a player off of waivers, they then have the lowest waiver priority.
  • Each team is awarded TWO compliance buyouts during the offseason.
[/fieldset]

[fieldset=""]Trades
  • All trades must be sent to IslesRock4 and RR or else they are not valid.
  • Once a trade is agreed upon, send it in BEFORE POSTING, and then you can announce it in the thread. A deal without a NTC or NMC does not have to be approved.
  • If a trade is announced prior to it being sent in, it will be vetoed.
  • ALL MOVES MUST BE SOMEWHAT REALISTIC. The commissioners hold the power to veto any ridiculous trades.
  • A trade involving a NTC or NMC must be sent in by BOTH GMs with a reasoning for the player to waive. The trade must be approved by BOTH trade managers prior to posting. Keep in mind it will only be on a rare occasion that a NTC or NMC is waived.
  • If a trade involving a NTC or NMC is announced before approval, it will be vetoed.
  • If a team does not have enough cap space to complete a trade that has been sent in, the trade will be vetoed.
  • Vetoed deals will require a significant re-work in order for them to be accepted.
  • If a player waives his NTC or NMC, the NTC or NMC is still valid with their new team.
[/fieldset]

[fieldset=""]Agents
  • Nuckles37 will be the agent for East RFAs.
  • ChuckytoGally will be the agent for West RFAs.
  • There will be NO re-signing of UFAs before free agency.
[/fieldset]

Unless there are huge objections, teams will not be allowed to re-sign UFAs. These games are shorter than the GM games and obviously have a huge emphasis on FA. With the market as weak as it already is, I think it will be better if everyone hits the open market.

How does the organizer(s) of the game feel about posting trade rumors?

You can say something like "There are rumors that [insert player name] is on the move to an Eastern Conference team", just don't be specific with team names.

as a GM, I dont mind the "player X is about to be traded" or "offers for player X are heating up" stuff... rumors ? not really since they arent really rumors, they're posted by the GM who made/received the actual offer.

We have a trade to announce!

:panthers receive
Linus Omark

:edmonton receive
Corban Knight

Confirm.

Omark has a solid offensive season and kept pace with Damien Brunner and Henrik Zetterberg on the same line during the Lockout. He wanted another chance at the NHL with another organization and we accommodated his request.

Corban Knight is an Alberta native that plays an uptempo abrasive game. He finished up his collegiate career with UND and will report to the Oklahoma City Barons of the AHL.

Alright, here we go!

COYOTES ACQUIRE HALAK

jaroslav-halak-blues.jpg

The Phoenix Coyotes have acquired starting goaltender Jaroslav Halak earlier today from the St-Louis Blues. In return, David Rundblad was sent to St-Louis. With this news, it is fair to assume Mike Smith won't be back next year in the desert.

"We're pretty excited to add Halak to our team. He's shown he can put great numbers in the past and we think he'll be just great in our defensive system here in Phoenix." said the GM. "It is sad to loose a top end prospect on the back-end in Rundblad, but we feel with all the talent we have, we could loose 1-2 prospects to cover some more pressing needs".

With this declaration, rumors started floating and the word on the street in Phoenix is that Maxim Goncharov could be the next to go. Stay tuned...

Luongo has been moved. Post to come shortly.

Team is going for a major core overhaul. Not a rebuild, targeting early/mid 20s core players already in the NHL. We'll definitely listen to some high prospects and picks as well.

Kesler, Burrows and Edler are attracting a ton of interest. 5+ offers for each from teams all over the league.

Sedins are on the block, but the deal will need to be enticing for both us and them for it to be considered. We've had several teams inquire, but we're not looking for a quantity based deal with 5+ players/prospects, we just want high quality players in return, even if it's just one or two.

Booth and Ballard are on the block and can go for cheap.

Check our roster thread for the rest of the tradeable players (BIEKSA!)

We're thrilled to land the 2nd OVR pick in a deep draft, as well as great 3rd line C and a prospect who showed he was NHL ready last season in Drew Shore. We wish Lu and Schroeder the best of luck in Florida, and a big **** you to Derek Roy. :laugh:

Florida confirms. While it may boggle some people that we wanted Luongo, he gets the starting job in a market with very little pressure. We welcome the forward play that both Schroeder and Roy (Who we will aggressively go after in FA) bring.
