Have caught some Torpedo games and been impressed with young Atanasov! He has that skill to score goals for sure. I think the players enjoy playing under the creative master Larionov...and you can see how much fun Larionov is having when he sees players like Atanasov score and make plays...Atanasov should play another 3-4 years before making any decision about NHL by then there will be plenty of suitors for his services

He's already 21 so I'd say it's this season and next and then he'll move to NA.

Why? NHL is not all its cracked up to be! Wait until he's 24-25 when he's fully ready and hopefully he chooses an ideal destination that has a couple other Russians to show him the Ropes and help with the Culture Shock and English Language

If he’s scoring like this in the KHL over a big sample, he’s fully ready for the NHL.

It could also depend on how much money a KHL team is willing to give him. Nothing is certain in the NHL. Just look how Shipachev was swindled.
Atanasov could go the Kaprizov route, taking an extra 2 years to set himself up for life before going to North America.

If he's PPG+ this and next seasons, I think it will be enough to get some hype amongst NHL scouts and managers. Especially given the hockey he plays. A very entertaining one to put it mildly.

Of course there are some dinosaur coaches still in the league he shouldn't come to...

Something you gotta appreciate as well is that he's not a one dimensional player. He's active defensively, he's willing to block shots, for forwards he's also in the top 10 for takeaways

There have been a lot of Russians that weren't given a fair shake(chance) might as well go over at a Prime Age(24-26)!Enjoy watching young Atanasov with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod

So he's kept up his production for almost 20 games now...

People that have watched him play, what do you think he can project to in the NHL? Top 6 winger, or more middle 6?

Will have to be top 6 to maximize his offensive talent and speed i think.

If Atanasov has any aspiration for the NHL just ask Letunov there top player what his experience was...The NHL team will jerk you around...go when your ready which is 1-2 years after you think you're ready...and look at the landscape how many players have contracts guaranteed how many spots are open and at what positions...don't be blinded by the glare and hype of the NHL make a wise, smart and Mature decision
