Had a good midget season last yr, has done well at various US camps. Now made the Spokane Chiefs of the WHL. Just wondered what people think of him and how he'll do at the WHL level.

Thanks

After missing an entire season, this is McGrew's draft plus one year but his rookie season in the WHL.

It's been a bit of a roller-coaster of a year but he's been the first star in the last two games in the WHL playoff series between Spokane and Portland.

In both games, the Chiefs were facing elimination and he really stepped up, with a goal and an assist in each game.

McGrew was a 6th round pick 159th overall of the San Jose Sharks - he's a California kid from Orange County.

Surprised no one is talking about McGrew. He went 2+4 in the 3 game prospect series for the Sharks, led the team in points (although Chekhovich only played 1 game due to injury), and seemed to make a really strong impression on the coach. Hopefully he becomes another late round steal.

Just a great skater with some high end skill and high IQ. Best forward for the Sharks during the games -- will be interesting to see how he adjusts to the pro game, there is work to do on his overall 2-way game and he's not very big. Optomistic signs though.
