Somewhere in Quebec.
So most people have heard of Joey Veleno, it's time you hear of the kid who has been rumoured to be close to or better than him since peewee. He's not as famous as Joey but apparently just as good. He recently won MVP at the Gatineau tourney playing for the Tigers and one source tells me he woul of been the best in espoir had he been surclassed. He is the best best player on his Bantam squad.

He's expected to play Midget AAA alongside Veleno next year.

I like Fortier a lot. He is behind Veleno but certainly remains amongst the top-5 2000-born forwards in Quebec. Édouard Saint-Laurent and Benoît-Olivier Groulx are both promising as well, for instance. Moreover, the LSL 2000 group is excellent.

One thing to notice is that this is the second year Quebec has a province-wide Bantam AAA program and that last year, the top scoring forwards had between 1,4 and 1,6 PPG (Bibeau, Côté, Comtois, Poulin, Morand, etc.). It is difficult to compare the talent level in this year's league to last year's but Fortier's 2,05 PPG sure stands out.

Some very good players coming out of Quebec right now.

More promising but still looking for an elite player to make an impact right away like you see from the Ontario prospects. I thought Huberdeau would be the one but no, same with Drouin but injuries messed with the start of his season. They should still become good players but Veleno/Parent may have the biggest chance of making a Tavares like impact right away.

I have seen Fortier play. Kids tons of ice time and is double shifted all over the place. Did not have a great supporting cast and based on stats carried the team offensively.

Not sure he is as good as Veleno who is same age and already played Midget AAA.

Is having a great Hlinka so far and looks like he grew a bit which is good. He had a good rookie year even though it was limited by injuries. Him and Bouchard will be the keys to the Drakkar resurgence

The part about him being better than Veleno as the OP mentioned certainly is interesting.

He’s expected to join Groulx and McIsaac in being traded to Moncton.

Moncton is going to have a VERY good team in the second half. Fortier will likely end up playing with Groulx and McKenna (97 points himself last year). The top 9 could look like this:

Fortier - Groulx - McKenna
Pelletier - Khovanov - L’Heureux
Desnoyers - Cyr - Hudson

Then Spence, McIsaac and Axel Andersson on D and Rodrigue in goal. They’ll be a team that you’ll want to pay attention to.

Keep hearing about these players being moved, but...what's hold up?
