I sincerely hope that when such young players are brought up in public hockey forums, there would be some kind of agreementä/alingnent with the family/team/player.
For many young players it could have negative effect.
That said, im a firm believer that special players show up at very early age. As mentioned on other topics, many knew Granlund, Laine and others at 10-11year old already, so heres hoping Frans Karjalahti is one of the Finnish star players in the future!

Is this kid even thread worthy.
Jesus man let the kid grow first at least 5 yrs before making prospect thread for him.
You can't know for sure how 11 yrs old kid develops coming years and how good he'll be.
And so long when Covid19 restrictions in Finland not allow any child / youth sport activities
( practices, games etc ) there is a chance this kid loses his interest on hockey
or gets some injury which ends his hockey career before it even started.
Lets talk more of this kid when he's been first in Pohjola Leiri
or made Team Finland U16 national team.

The production's very good, and you generally only see a double underager playing at u-15s every couple of years, let alone a late birthday. However, watching him I've not really seen anything crazy so it remains to be seen what his status as a prospect will be.

These threads are so interesting to follow. I kinda want to see this thread again in 10 years time.
People acting like we havent seen these type of threads before. Most of the time a double underager points to a pretty special player. You see it more often in Europe than in NA. Can someone who is more familiar point out a double underager who didnt amount to anything?

Karalahti isn't Karjalahti.
Kinda surprised they still have teams like GrIFK at this level. The team's goal differential is 4-33 and they lost this game to HIFK 0-18. If we look at just scoring it of course is very strong production, especially for a late birthday, although it probably is somewhat inflated right now due to just having played vs GrIFK.
Were the production to stay the way it is, it would be equal to Brad Lambert's production when Lambert was about a year older than him. Can't think of any comparables of anyone at the same age.
U15 is still regional. National competition starts at U16. That's why there's teams like GrIFK, Hunters in south, and i assume some other weak teams in other regions. You can't just have HIFK, Jokerit, K-Espoo playing eachother every game.
Also iirc the top regional division (AAA) is divided for two equal groups for the first half of the season. Then for the second half it's devided to upper and lower division AAA by the standings of those original groups. So second half when the weaker teams are in AAA-lower you are very unlikely to see 18-0 blowouts.

See, you might have a point if this group did not have 5 more teams than any other group. It might be justifiable if the teams were all competitive, but as is there really is no need for such a large amount of teams in one group. Also, the fed's supposed to actively avoid having such large skill discrepancies but of course, we know how successful they are at doing so.
