Should be one of the top Americans for the 2026 NHL draft. Ethan Garden reminds me of Mitch Marner in that his is small and slight in stature but but he plays a fast, elusive and skilled game. He is a fantastic skater than isn’t afraid of attacking the middle of the ice. He isn’t much of a shooter but he is able to find teammates from most anywhere on the ice because of how great his vision is. He is also always going 100% at any point of the game - he doesn‘t shy away from getting physical and is great On the forecheck applying pressure to defenders looking for breakouts.

It’ll be interesting to see how things go going forward.

Cool seeing a top hockey player coming out of Belleville, which is typically known for football. Assuming Garden will be at the NTDP next year and then at Michigan in 2026.

He wasn’t on the YOG roster, so he will likely have significant work to do in making the roster.

Only a 17 man roster at that tournament, Garden will still have a chance to make the NTDP. Work to do, but a chance for sure
Yeah, that’s true. I would think that close to 15 players will return. The last edition had 14 of 17 return for the NTDP and then 9 new players for the NTDP. It was probably a better YOG team in 2020 with more no-doubt picks, so maybe this team will see more turnover.

He’s one of the bigger names that wasn’t picked, so he probably has a better chance than anyone, but if you flip that around he might’ve not been under the radar. They simply may not think he’s not of the best 17 or 23.

Now we await if Garden will go a developmental route through the O in a place like Saginaw, Flint, Windsor, or London, or if he goes through the USHL and ends up at Michigan or Michigan State.
