13-14: T-3rd in points
14-15: T-2nd in points
15-16: T-6th in points
16-17: T-2nd in points
17-18: T-2nd in points

Using playoff numbers are a farce when his production relies heavily on his linemates being able to capitalize on his playmaking. It's also an extremely small sample size of games, but I guess 30 games are a reasonable amount when it fits your agenda, but 200+ games of 70-point play are an anomaly.
And now we're on to the "linemates" bit? Yeah, I'm the one changing the "sample size" to fit my "agenda". What is 200 out of 500? Probably couldn't consider that the majority of his time here, could we?

Just to clarify, what would you consider to be "average" 2nd line production for the 3 years from 2013-14 to 2015-16? Because he's 119th in the league in points-per-game as far as forwards go (>100 games played). Seems like average to me, but now we're just arguing semantics.

It's not a bit to point out fact that no one produced well in the playoffs, so using those as a justification of him being a below-average 2nd line player isn't reasonable (especially when he was our #2 scorer in an actual majority of the playoffs). 47.9% of his regular season games were at a 70-point pace. We can include his playoff numbers though.

2016 - 2019:

231 GP
63 Goals
127 Assists
0.823 PPG (67.5 point pace)

46.2% of his career here. Ya got me, he's not a 70-point player, he was only a 67.5 point player. It's also important to note that these numbers all come from his final seasons here, which should hold more weight than seasons where he was 20-21 years old.

That depends. If a guy plays 1st line minutes, producing 2nd line numbers isn't a good thing.

Being 119th in ppg for the role that Granlund was given? Yeah, that's not good.

Well, over those 3 years Koivu averaged 14:13 5v5 minutes (to Granlund's 13:52) and 3:22 PP minutes (to Granlund's 2:27). Granlund had one season where he averaged more 5v5 minutes than Koivu, two where he averaged less.

I mean, I know he played with Parise quite a bit during that time, but that was probably more of a handicap than anything else. His numbers might actually be more impressive, considering.
