Ehh... I wrote something about it on the History of Hockey forum, but then realized the only thing implying death is the use of "abattu" by the Tweeter.
That usually means death, but it could also be that the guy doesn't have a good enough grasp on language to be actually working in the Media.

The tweet seems incorrect. The Journal de Québec article mentions that Côté is currently hospitalized in a Quebec City hospital but that his life apparently isn't in danger.
Hospital's not commenting for now however so he could be dead but maybe they're waiting to reach family before announcing it.

That's sad, I've had a few drinks with him, he was a nice guy back then. Too bad the slop he started down after leaving here....

I was 13 when the Preds came into existence, and it was only natural for a naive 13 year old to gravitate to the fighter as one of his favorite players. Obviously didn't last long but I "liked him" a lot back in the early Preds days. It's a shame to keep hearing his name every year or so because you know the reason for it is never a good one.
