I hate to rain on the Subban Vezina parade, but...

7-7, 2.89 GAA, and .906 save %, does absolutely nothing for me.

People were taking points away from Rask the other night for his low workload shutout. Subban’s wasn’t much more difficult, made a couple of nice saves and that was it.

Happy for him. Always seemed like a good kid, probably would have carved out a nice little career here like he's doing in Vegas but that's the way the expansion draft works. Oh well.
Wasn't claimed in the expansion draft, we just lost him on waivers to Vegas.

not an ex bruin... but I just saw that yesterday is the anniversary of our 70 shot night against ron tugnett. still an alltime record for shots in a 60 min game. I was a much younger pup when that game happened... but I had my big old 10foot cband satalite dish out here in western Canada and watched it happen.

you youngins might say we make backup goalies look like vezina winners too frequently these days, but imagine watching 70 shots and ron freaking tugnett and only getting 3 goals

seems I remember hearing bourque had like 11 or 19 shots himself that night... cant remember the exact number but bourque is pretty much the most accurate shooter in history and when even he cant put in another goal with that many shots you know tugnett was having the game of the century against us.

I have to say, I didn’t see this coming with Donato. The trade really kicked his ass into gear. This is how I was hoping he’d play with Krejci but for whatever reason he wasn’t ready.

It could also be the system

Cassidy is all about the system and covering for your teammates/D etc

Vs Wild its more man on man

The way things are moving the Bruins should have received a draft pick along with Coyle

The only thing I didn't like about the trade was I thought the pick went the wrong way. Even if it was just a 5th, you never know.

Bourque had 19 shots, believe that’s still a record. I watched the game with my dad on 10’dish as well. I remember being so happy it finished a tie. Of course we wanted Boston to win, but as the game went on your heart wanted tugnett to get a point at least. Best tie game in Bruins history.

I am not trying to be a hater and I wish Donato well. However when I see that he is scoring a ppg the most surprising part is the 11 assists. Does Donato have higher potential as a playmaker then I gave him credit for. In his time here I thought of him as a pure scorer.

Since joining Minnesota Donato has 4 goals in 15 games which is a pretty good 22 goal pace. The 11 assists would be 60 over a full season. For the supporters and the haters. Is he more then a shooter? What is sustainable?

Still bummed to lose Donato. I don’t think there is a forward in our system that will score as many goals as he will over their career. Studnicka and maybe Bjork havae a chance to be the better overall player if they put it all together but neither has that shot.

Riley Nash 70GP - 1G - 10A - 11PTS

Tim Schaller 40GP - 2G - 5A - 7 PTS

This is proof alone that some player just do better on different teams with different systems, players, atmosphere, etc. Both Tim and Riley had career years here in Boston, and a lot of people were upset to see them go. Now, well they haven't done much as you can see.

Donato may have never produced here like he has so far in Minnie. He may just be having a good second half or the season or found where he belongs only time will tell. Same goes with players skipped over in the draft.

What about Coyle "fit" here?

So lack of offensive numbers tell the whole story?

Or the flip side- good offensive numbers tell the whole story? There's some reason why Donato failed to do this with the Bruins, in the same way Riley Nash has been a total bust in Columbus. System, line-mate chemistry, matchups, expected responsibilities.
