Source is suspect, so not reading to much into this until DRW make an official statement. Would it surprise me, no, but considering what’s he’s gone through to get back to this level, his brother in the NHL, I highly doubt it to be true.
1. This blog post cites a Russian website, that cites a "source", without naming or quoting the "source". That is not journalism. Why do you say the source is suspect?
Wouldn't Detroit still hold on to his rights? Could be a good option versus losing him via waivers if he didn't make the big club next year. Gives him another year to rehab.
I would have given it one more season before rocking the boat.
Seems like bad time to bail with how open the roster will be next season.
The roster should have been wide open this season.
Leads the team in pre-season points.
Led the team in shots/60 during a short call up.
Yet, Hirose, Erne, Perlini and even Givani Smith played more. And now Timashov will play more.
Svech needs to get the f*** out of Detroit.
Sending highly talented players like Svech back to the AHL while keeping career AHLers like Hirose, Erne and Perlini up is such a Red Wings thing to do. Pisses me off. Do they see something with Svech that we don't? Because as you've said, he's been one of the best player in the preseason AND also during his callup. WTF does he need to do to stay in Detroit?
I hope this report is fake but if he does go back to Russia, I wouldn't blame him one bit...
