Everett, WA - Doug Soetaert , Vice President/General Manager of the Everett Silvertips, came to terms in a major trade today, completing a four player deal with the Swift Current Broncos. The Everett Silvertips trade forwards Barry Horman and Marc Desloges to the Swift Current Broncos for forwards Alex Leavitt and Kyle Annesley. Leavitt played 15 games this season with the Broncos and tallied 3 goals and 11 assists. Last season with Swift Current, the Edmonton, Alberta native, finished 3rd on the hockey club in scoring with 27 goals and 41 assists in 71 games in his first season in the WHL and ranked second amongst Western Hockey League rookies. Leavitt also played NCAA hockey for University of Wisconsin (WCHA) in the 2002-2003 season. With the Badgers, Leavitt tallied 13 goals and added 26 assists in 67 games. Annesley has played a total of 188 games in the WHL with the Calgary Hitmen and the Swift Current Broncos. The Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan native has scored 17 goals and added 29 assists with 188 penalty minutes in his Western Hockey League career. This season with the Broncos, Annesley has tallied 2 goals and 3 assists in 19 games. "This trade was very tough to turn down", mentions Silvertips General Manager Doug Soetaert. "We are very happy to get a good playmaking center in Alex Leavitt and a hard working left winger in Kyle Annesley. In order to get good players you have to give up good players. Since the loss of Riley Armstrong, we were looking for a center for quite sometime and believe we did that with the addition of Leavitt." The Silvertips are currently 3-1 on their East Division road swing and will end the road trip on Friday night against the Regina Pats in Regina, Saskatchewan.
