I would be surprised if Kane wanted to sign an extension here.

My guess is that he wants to get to a bigger city. And I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to sign with Vegas.

NYC is a 1 hour flight away. Toronto is a 2 hour drive.

His money goes way farther here, and larger cities are very close. (This is why I stay.)

Have got to imagine that, given Kane's propensity for off ice trouble, if the sabres offered a long term era money contract, his agent would lean on him heavily to take it. Turning down guaranteed money is a risky venture, especially when you attract trouble and play a style like he does.
