The first European and the biggest Fan Club of the Colorado Avalanche will organize its 10th trip to Colorado under the name Eurolanche Invasion X during the 2017-18 season. Five Fan Club members will spend two weeks in the US, attend seven Colorado Avalanche games and visit at least four US states. “Following the celebrations of our 10th anniversary, it’s time to celebrate our most successful project – the Eurolanche Invasion – by organizing its tenth edition. I’m really happy that new members will get to chance to venture overseas and that the number of attended games will surpass 60,†said Eurolanche Founder and President David Puchovsky.

Five Fan Club members from three different countries will be part of Eurolanche’s tenth Invasion. Slovakia will be represented by David Puchovsky, who will participate in his tenth Invasion participation, a new Eurolanche record, and by Ivan Riska, who will be going to Denver for the first time. The Czech Republic will be represented by first-timer Marek Korber and, for the second year in row, by Michal Zdrazil. The group will be joined by Juuso Uustalo from Finland, who will participate in a Eurolanche Invasion for the first time, but has already been to Denver in the past individually. Slovakia will be represented for the seventh time in row, while the Czech Republic and Finland will be represented for the third and second time in row respectively, as Finland was represented at the most recent Invasion for the first time. Invasion X will begin on February 24 and end on March 11, 2018.

The schedule of Eurolanche Invasion X will be highlighted by seven Colorado Avalanche games. The participants will attend seven games for the sixth time in row since Invasion V. The tenth trip of the Fan Club will see the participants attend five home games against the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators and Arizona Coyotes. Furthermore, the group will attend two road games against the Chicago Blackhawks and Columbus Blue Jackets. The same model and number of games was also part of the schedule of Invasion IX, during which its participants attended two road games in California. It will be Eurolanche’s second game against Vancouver, third against Calgary, Minnesota and Nashville, fourth against Arizona, and record-breaking seventh against Chicago, the second on their ice. They will also attend their fifth game against Columbus. Chicago will also become the first city, to which Eurolanche members will return to see the Avalanche play (first time at Invasion VII).

Following their flight to Chicago for their first road game, Eurolanche Invasion X participants will spend five days outside of the state of Colorado. They will spend two days in the Windy City, after which they’ll go to Indianapolis by car, in the vicinity of which they’ll be staying overnight. The participants will then continue to Columbus for their second away game. They’ll spend the last day of their road trip in Cincinnati. The group will visit three states in five days – Illinois, Indiana and Ohio, which will be a Eurolanche Invasion record.

The Invasion X group will stay the majority of their trip in Colorado, where they’ll fly from Europe two days prior to their first Avs game. They’ll visit and do activities in Denver and Colorado, which have already became a staple of the Invasion project, but will also visit locations previous Invasion participants haven’t. The preliminary schedule includes visits to downtown Denver, a tour of the Pepsi Center, Avalanche practices and meetings with players, the Red Rock Amphitheater, the Great Sand Dunes National Park, the state’s oldest town San Luis, the Rocky Mountains, Pikes Peak, the Garden of Gods, the local brewery and other famous sites. The entire schedule will be published at a later date.

The Eurolanche Fan Club has been organizing Eurolanche Invasion trips since its second year of existence. Since then, an Invasion wasn’t organized in a single season – in 2010-11. Thanks to Invasion X, the overall number of attended games will reach 61, with six of them being road games away from the Pepsi Center. A total of 59 Eurolanche members from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Finland, Switzerland and Romania have participated in the Invasion project. The Avalanche hold a 32-3-20 record after nine Eurolanche Invasions.

Thanks to Eurolanche Invasion X and the Eurolanche Raid 2017, a number of Fan Club members will attend nine games during a single season, which will be a Eurolanche record. At the occasion of the Fan Club’s tenth Invasion, the coverage at www.eurolanche.com will include a series of special articles about previous Invasions.
