Well done and a big feather in the cap for sure. Whether he can take it to the next level we have no idea but if you can find a pp type dman than does not kill you the rest of the time he plays it's a big plus.

We need to find our Krug/Boyle/Campbell/Ellis type guy. Some can make the jump and then there are guys like Hunt who are all world in the AHL but can't make it in the NHL.

Yeah, Barrie's probably the best comparable on that list in terms of a later pick/size/playstyles.

Heck I'd take another Bergeron.

I would take Bergeron and play him exclusively on the PP, like a DH in baseball, just for his point shot and dress 7 Dmen every game. In a heart beat.

If i'm not mistaken Soy is still draft eligible. Can't see him slipping through again this year.

Ah well. Missed opportunity.

Bear is killing it on PP. Jones is killing it 5x5

RHD with a bomb of a shot and elite on PP. Hmm maybe we could use that :sarcasm:

Well done and a big feather in the cap for sure.

That's particularly apt given his aboriginal heritage. :)

Ethan Bear has said that he wants to be an aboriginal role model and he has the potential to be a great one. Congrats to the kid. I'm cheering for him.

I played with his older brother Everett for a year back when Ochap didn't have enough guys to field a team. Ethan was like 3 or 4 at the time. Super nice family, and dedicated to hockey. Everett had some unreal natural talent, think he ended up playing at Notre Dame private school for a while.

And he'll get one more year in the WHL to iron out his game a little more. It wouldn't surprise me to see him hit the ground running when he gets to the AHL, vs. the slower course most defenceman take.

Is he eligible for the WJHC next year?

Only thing that's scaring me is a year down the road and having all 3 of Bear, Jones, and Paigin hitting the AHL as rookies at the same time. How do you organise the icetime and have everyone in a position to succeed?

It wouldn't surprise me to see one of them dealt as a sweetener in a deal. (Likely Jones as I hold Paigin a little higher, and his name may help raise his value)

Loik Leveille has put together a pretty nice season too with 16 goals and 47 points.

I think by that time all well have in the AHL is Simpson, Laleggia and maybe Betker/Lagesson. Those 3 will be vets by then, so should shelter them. Although with Paigin being a 4 year KHL player I think hell only need shelter for first 30 games as he transitions
