Seemed like it was expected for awhile, purely a cap move rather than performance based. Sounds like they need the cap space for C.J. Mosley.

Physically he's fallen off a cliff. Slowed down and was never particularly good at tackling.

I'd wager that he either retires or plays somewhere close to his SoCal home.

All these can't be true

I'd say it's more likely they use the money on Z'darius Smith or a different safety.

Weddle's not as good as he once was but he's still really good. Pff had him rated as the 10th best safety last year.

This seems like exactly the kind of guy the Pats would chase in the offseason.

Respected vet, hardworking on field and off. Might not be at peak performance but still has a lot left to give if you can control his snap counts and use him in the right situations.

Respected vet, hardworking on field and off. Might not be at peak performance but still has a lot left to give if you can control his snap counts and use him in the right situations.

Also came here to post that Weddle to the Patriots seems like a no-brainer.
