In this case, it's obviously time to stop referencing it when talking about 2 years of terrible Chelsea football.
Chelsea definitely underscores its limitations as a predictive stat, lol

But it remains useful for assessing Chelsea, to an extent, because it shows how our problem isn’t chance creation

And it's useful because it underscores how dysfunctional we are hahaha

As if we needed further proof that EPL #s need to be taken with a grain of salt because of how easy it is to score in that league:

It's like the seasons where Brighton were consistently xG darlings, at a certain point you just have really poor finishers. I don't see a massive correction for Chelsea on this (e.g. like Union Berlin's regression) because they really only have one quality finisher.
