I was thinking this might have been a decent game because West Ham needed any points they could get to keep themselves in a Europa spot for next year.

Liverpool likely wins today which would put them 1 point behind West Ham with a game in hand. If they can't stay ahead of Liverpool they're left hoping that United win the FA cup or Liverpool doesn't win the Europa

They're in an extremely busy schedule, might as well rest some guys when playing the weaker sides in that stretch. I'd assume they rest people against Newcastle as well resting for the Derby and for the Europa games

The ref let a *ton* of grabbing go on both sides on that corner and then gave a corner on a huge dive after you've sent a guy off for a dive that was no worse. Regardless of what he did or didn't give before it was a brutal call and extremely poor game management

No. If you're going to call something, call it all game. If not, don't suddenly decide to call it late in the game after you've consistently set a standard of acceptable contact. It's horrible game management.
