I imagine ufc with White in charge would want to limit any crossover between ufc and wwe performers. UFC has the gambling aspect to preserve and would want to stay clear of the scripted wwe.

WWE is trying to... uh, get approval? (I don't know that business well enough to know "from whom"?) for betting on WWE matches to exist in the legal sports books.

UFC obviously would want to keep their brand with a reputation of being non-scripted; but it's the athletes themselves who maintain the separation, because the training is so vastly different. They APPEAR to be similar "disciplines," (fighting) but the goal of one is to hurt people and the goal of the other is to NOT HURT people, jut look convincing to entertain, but definitely NOT HURT people.

People transitioning between the two take months or years away from the other: Lesnar was a ghost in the WWE universe while training for UFC, and Rousey took like 6+ months between leaving UFC and being "ready" to compete in WWE.

Probably trying to convince casinos to take the action. Wouldn't be the 1st time casinos dipped their toes into prop bets on scripted TV.

The big problem is the casinos would lose a lot of money on the bets. Nearly everything in WWEs plans/scripts gets leaked well before the actual events

Plus WWE plans things months in advance. Hard to keep that quiet. They just did Wrestlemania. They already know the headliners for SummerSlam and likely Survivor Series which are their 2 other huge PPV events.

I think the leak thing is obviously a known issue. But the lines can adjust accordingly. Like, people who are fans usually have a very strong assumption of what's going to happen...

the real issue is that you need a policy/procedure/disclaimer that the result of the match IS what the WWE says it is... Tons of matches end in DQ's or no-contests. One episode, Kane went crazy and interrupted EVERY match and just choke slammed EVERYONE. So what do you do there?

Or last night, when Shane McMahon blew out his knee mid-fight and his opponent had no idea what to do, so Snoop Dogg came in and "beat up" the opponent.

(Wow, I know way too much about WWE).

Does Endeavor just expect to make money off the wcw catalog?
House show business is up and the next three PPVs (or Premium Live Events as they're being called because nobody in WWE talks like a normal human being) are going to be in Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, and the United Kingdom. Plus there's the media library.

Nobody wins, not the bettor or the bookie. All goes to charity

I can't fathom ever beating on a wrestling. Back when i was watching a lot so many matches were interrupted by someone from the guy who's losing faction or by a guy like Mr.Fuji with a cane across the back. Wasn't a lot of clean wins back in the day lol.

WWE puts on more live events. Have a larger roster of performers who all need to get paid a salary for the year during their contract.

Not surprised that their revenue is higher but is offset against higher salaries.

Do wonder if they integrate the overhead costs to save money.

Months in advance? Maybe for their main storylines. Last night they ran their biggest TV of the year and went to air still writing the show. Seth Rollins had a segment cut while standing in the ring.

It will all depend on how much Vince stays involved, which is likely to be a lot.

So, here's the deal; back catalogs aren't what they used to be. When WWE bought the WCW and (later) ECW archives, they made a fortune off DVD sales, with "The Rise and Fall of ECW" being their largest project. It was enough to justify a series of events called One Night Stand and later, for a few years, a revival of the ECW brand before it was replaced by NXT. However, with the rise of streaming services, catalogs are becoming less of a viable option for companies, as having old programming is becoming a harder sell, especially for niche audiences who probably will seek... alternative methods to locate what they're looking for, particularly given that what's available on the WWE Network and Peacock will be chopped up due to music licensing and content (such as stuff that features people from rival networks or was done in extremely poor taste that does not hold up for a modern audience).

No, Endeavor bought WWE for newer content (which is why streaming services are always making new TV shows and not hyping the fact that they have all these old movies and shows you can't see anymore), as well as how consistent they have been with touring for decades. They bought them due to their solid television deals and their ability to produce hours of solid, if not as good as they once were, television programming. Right now, things have picked up especially on SmackDown as more viewers tune in as they were more interested in what Roman Reigns and his stable, the Bloodline, were up to for the past year or so, which meant it has at least been a good purchase at the moment, but we'll see how it turns out.
