Sometimes this "low points must = defensive defenceman who can't move the puck" equation can be misleading. There are defencemen, like Ellerby, who are very good at moving the puck- rushing it well into the other teams' zone or making good outlet passes- but who are not natural power play point men, don't have big shots, and maybe lack a little of that "jump into the play as the 4th forward" sense and therefore don't get the points of a Ray Macias. But they are not pure stay at home types either.
